contribute a woodstock reminiscence

The Museum at Bethel Woods maintains a text and oral archive of the 1969 Woodstock festival experience that can be used as a resource for historians, educators and others interested in exploring the impact of the festival on those who attended.

Should you have a reminiscence about your experience at the 1969 Woodstock festival, please email us your full name, address, email address and daytime phone number at Museum@BethelWoodsCenter.org.

Submission of a reminiscence confirms your approval for Bethel Woods to use your reminiscence on our website, within the exhibit, in print, in advertising and in other media.

Donate a woodstock artifact

Gifts of objects associated with the historic 1969 Woodstock Music and Art Fair are essential to the growth and educational potential of The Museum at Bethel Woods and are actively sought by the museum. Past donations have provided our museum with an outstanding collection that continues to appeal to all generations from varied backgrounds throughout the world. Artifacts provide insight to the past, and enhance and strengthen our collection and our ability to convey experiences that are affiliated with the festival. The Museum at Bethel Woods acquires objects for its collections through gifts from the general public, and we invite you to contribute to the museum's collection and become an active participant in the future of The Museum at Bethel Woods.

All objects submitted for acquisition are reviewed by the Museum Advisory Committee, which is charged with accepting only those items of historic significance that support the museum's mission and education and exhibit programs. Only after the committee gives its approval do submitted objects become registered artifacts.

If you own an object that is related to the historic 1969 Woodstock Music and Art Fair and would be interested in sharing it with the world, not only at the present time, but for generations to come, then we would like to hear from you. Please do not send your artifacts to the museum without prior approval. We welcome your proposals and hope you will join us with preserving this important event in our history.
